A Word from Dr. Gooch

"I am very happy to be back in Tucson where my wife and I call home. I have two girls and two boys that keep us very busy. My wife is a graduate of the University of Arizona, where she played on the women's soccer team. My wife and I have enjoyed playing sports all our lives and also enjoy winter sports like snowboarding from our time living in Provo, UT. When our kids are not occupying our free time, we enjoy the movies, the outstanding Tucson restaurants, and the fantastic Tucson weather.

As a foot and ankle specialist resident from Oakwood Annapolis Hospital, I have had significant opportunities to broaden my knowledge base, clinical acumen, and surgical skills through a wide variety of patient encounters. I used that time as a resident to learn from orthopedic and podiatric surgeons how preoperative analysis, technical surgical intervention, and post-surgical management are executed to allow patients to return to their active lifestyles. This training has afforded me ample experience from treating the most common heel or toe pain to the most complex reconstructive surgical cases such as total ankle arthroplasty, severe trauma of both the rear foot and ankle, and revision pediatric clubfoot.

Dr. Gooch and Family

Having worked in the Tucson community for the four years has also allowed me to develop strong interpersonal skills from working closely with many people with different backgrounds, both in academia and at major health care systems.

I look forward to meeting you,

Dr. David W. Gooch"
